In between coordinating the Christmas Book Bash (which was a hit BTW! :)), preparing the family for the holidays and my night job of graphic designing I've been writing on not only Blake and Bella's full-length novel, but also two other novellas. The muse is a curious thing and when the words flow there's no ignorning them!
Seducing Her Marines is about two Marines who have come home broken in more ways than one and it will be up to their childhood sweetheart to help heal their wounds that leads to a new beginning for all three.
Hexing the Alpha is my first paranormal romance and the first in my new series Hex My Heart which is about four witches who find love as potent as the love potions they brew.
Seducing Her Marines will releases Spring 2015 and Hexing the Alpha releases February 7th 2015. (more release dates and cover reveals for the Hex My Heart series to follow soon!)
Seducing Her Marines & Hexing the Alpha are short erotic novellas written to satisfy your craving for bad boy alpha heroes while on the go!
Please note: Seducing Her Marines is a stand-alone and Hexing the alpha is the first of four novellas in my new series, Hex My Heart, and is not a serial.

Now for the sweet treats! About five months ago my daughter found this delicious dessert and begged to make it. Now I'm not admitting to any kind of M&M addiction, but if you suffer from this, you might want to make this recipe right away! It has a way of soothing the urge to M&M binge. :)
Thick and Chewy M&M Cookie Bars
Yield: 1 9x1 3 pan Prep Time: 1 5 min Cook Time: 30 min Total Time: 45 min
These cookies are soft, chewy, and chocked full of M&M's!
2 1 /8 cups flour
1 /2 tsp salt
1 /2 tsp baking soda
1 2 Tbsp butter (1 1 /2 sticks), melted and cooled slightly
1 cup brown sugar
1 /2 cup white sugar
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
2 tsps vanilla extract
1 1 2oz bag M&M's, divided
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Adjust the oven rack to lower-middle position. Grease a 9x1 3 pan and set aside.
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and sugars until combined. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla and mix well.
Using a rubber spatula, fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined; do not over mix. Fold in 1 cup of M&M's and turn the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with the spatula. Sprinkle remaining M&M's on top and press in slightly.
Bake 25-30 minutes, until the top of the bars is light golden brown, slightly firm to the touch, and edges start pulling away from sides of pan. Cool completely before cutting. Enjoy!
I've heard through the grapevine that Santa LOVES this option to cookies. Just sayin'!

Thank you so much to Talina for having this fabulous Christmas bash! It’s so much fun to be with you here today to share a little bit about my holidays and my new release, Stay the Night.
My signature dish for Christmas is a Cuban-style citrus-marinated roast pork. We, because it is a family affair to cook this dish, start preparing it the night before after a trip to Union City, New Jersey to pick up some Cuban staples and the pork leg.
I normally feed anywhere from 15 to 25 people on Christmas Eve, so I need a really really big pork leg (pork shoulder/picnic ham/pernil). I normally get a piece of pork that weighs around 25 pounds, but you can buy a much smaller piece and adjust the cooking times (more on that later).
10-15 navel oranges
6-8 Seville (aka Sour) Oranges
6 pink grapefruit
10-20 gloves of finely chopped garlic
Pork leg/shoulder/picnic ham
Juice all the above citrus into a large pot. We use one of those large buckets in which your grocery store deli get its potato salad, etc. Drop by and ask them for one! Ours is only used for the Christmas Eve pork.
The citrus mix should be sour, but with a strong hit of sweet (the navel oranges and grapefruit really help with that). You should have enough citrus juice to fully cover your piece of pork. Once you’ve tasted the sweet/sour mix, then add 3 to 4 bay leaves, about a half cup of garlic (less for a smaller piece of pork) and about 1/4 cup of cumin. Mix this all up.
Take your piece of pork and make multiple slits in it so that the marinade can penetrate into the meat. Place the pork leg in the citrus juice, cover and refrigerate. You’re probably wondering how I keep that big a bucket cold? Put the bucket in one of those big party tubs, place it in your garage (which should be slightly colder anyway) and fill the tub with ice. It should be icy cold in the morning unless you are in a really hot environment in which case you will need to keep on adding ice to keep the meat cold.
In the morning (around 6 a.m. or so) pre-heat the oven to 425. Remove the pork from the citrus and place it in a large roasting dish. Keep some of the citrus juice, bay leaves and garlic for use as a marinade. Discard the rest. Ladle about 1 to 2 cups over the pork and then stick the pork into the oven for one hour at 425. For a small piece of pork, cut down this initial high temp roast accordingly. For ten pounds make it around 30 minutes, anything smaller than that no more than about 15 minutes.
Do not baste the pork during this high heat roast.
When the high heat roast time is up, baste the pork and lower the oven temp to 325. Then cook until the meat pulls away from the bone in the leg and is starting to fall off. Marinate every half an hour during the cooking process. For a 25 pound pork leg, I will cook it for about 8 to 9 hours. The pork will turn this beautiful mahogany brown and just melt in your mouth.
For smaller pieces of pork, adjust the cooking times. A 10 pound picnic ham may take only about 4 or so hours. The key is to keep on basting and cooking at a low temp to keep the meat juicy.
If the pork begins to brown too much, just cover with aluminum and keep on cooking until the meat is fork tender.
I hope you’ll try my family’s roast pork recipe one day and I hope you all have a lovely Christmas.
As I mentioned, my latest release is Stay the Night, a sexy story about Navy Seal Rafe Castillo who is coming home after spending months away from his wife. They’ve been married for five years, but have spent more time apart than together. In that time, Elena, Rafe’s wife, has grown and changed and Rafe is afraid that he’s been left behind.
Stay the Night is a touching, emotional and very sexy story about how a husband and wife take a chance during one night to see if their love is strong enough to keep them together for the future.

Jax is having a bad day. A bad month. But when he wins big his holiday cheer improves. And who better to celebrate with than the lovely lady who caught his eye at the slot machine.
Alex isn’t looking for a holiday romance, but she does have a solution to her problems. Jax would make a perfect boyfriend—even if she must pay him. Money well spent to keep her parents off of her back for the week.
Santa has a plan. The gift Alex and Jax find other the tree is more than cash for services.
Sun dried tomatoes in oil (drained, reserving 2 T. oil)
1-pound chicken tenderloins
1 cup half & half
1 cup shredded mozzarella
Salt & pepper to taste
Whipping it up:
In a large skillet, put in reserved oil, sun dried tomatoes and garlic. Cook for 1 minute. Take out tomatoes and chop into smaller pieces. Put chicken in pan and cook until brown on each side. In the meantime, start cooking pasta as directed on the box. Once chicken is brown, add in half & half, tomatoes, mozzarella, salt & pepper and cook on medium, stirring occasionally, until chicken is cooked through. It might seem too thick, but you’ll add pasta water soon.
Once the pasta is tender, drain, reserving about 2 cups of the cooking water. Pour the reserved water into the pan with chicken. Stir well and cook for a few minutes. Then add pasta in with the chicken and stir. Sprinkle parsley on top.

If music nourishes the soul…
Loved by millions, but shunned by blood, Heath “Fang” Fangor has led his band, Hot Wired, to the top while others have fallen by the wayside. He devoted his life to music, and from that devotion harvested a new family—his band mates and fans.
A man can desire nothing else…or can he?
Living in the shadow of her brother’s fame sucks! Sam Collins is desperate to have what she wants—a simple and uncomplicated life. She’s no stranger to scandals and how they work. Now that she’s inadvertently dragged Fang into the center of her latest gossip, could the scandal she created in her quest for freedom have gone too far?
Amid stardom the heart stages a new melody…
Fang has more fame and fortune than he will ever need, but none of that matters if he can’t have the woman of his dreams. Years have been wasted waiting for the right moment to approach the woman his heart desires above all others. There’s just one major problem...she’s his best friend’s sister. To have her, he will have to risk it all.
One that might be responsible for Rockin the Heart!
Heath was a rock star god. The tight lines fanning outward from his silver eyes classified him as a pissed off rock star god.
“Wanna tell me what you did this time to get the platinum treatment?” He indicated the jail cell, while ramming his fingers through his shaggy, jet-black hair.
Preferring to shrink into the shadows and avoid a confrontation with him, Sam took a deep breath and rose from the bench. She stepped away from the metal seat to draw closer to the bars dividing them.
She’d expected her brother, Jason—Jase—to ride to her rescue. Like always. Her foundation. Predictable. Dependable. Rattled by her sibling’s abandonment, she ogled the skull on Heath’s shirt, mortification overwhelming her.
If Heath was Jase’s replacement, then he’d been serious when he said ‘don’t call me the next time you’re arrested.’ She’d assumed he yelled that in anger. She was surprised he’d bothered to offer aid at all.
Gut hollow at her brother’s desertion, she cleared the ache out of her throat and asked, “Can’t you just bail me out and we’ll forget this ever happened?”
Knowing he wouldn’t go for that suggestion, Sam swallowed hard and shuffled her feet. Disappointing Jase was one thing, but letting Heath down was an entirely different matter. She’d crushed on the man since her tenth birthday when he’d given her a heart-shaped jewelry box. Didn’t matter he’d been too old for her at a mature fourteen. That infatuation hadn’t waned with age either, but only grown stronger. Not that he showed her a stitch of interest. To him, she was nothing more complicated than a kid sister.
His digits curled around one of the bars. The tattoo lettering on his left knuckles fit his current disposition—ired. On the other hand the letters H-O-T-W graced his knuckles. If read together, they spelled out the name of his band: Hot Wired.
“Not this time, Samantha.”
She cringed. The only time he broke out her full name was when he was upset or disappointed with her.
“You been drinking?”
“You know I haven’t.” Just shy of twenty-one, in her world getting liquor wasn’t an issue. Neither was alcohol her preferred drug of choice.
She rolled her eyes, the question too stupid to warrant a response.
“This type of publicity is bad news for the band.” She’d heard that one before. None of her recklessness damaged Hot Wired’s career. Not that she sought to hinder their mega stardom. She wasn’t that selfish, she just struggled with controlling her impulses on occasion.
Therapy failed to help. Yelling spawned further rebellion.
Living under the umbrella of the band’s fame grew tiresome. Her life should be her own, to live however she pleased. Weary of the media hounding her, she craved going back to a time when nobody knew her name. A normal life like when she’d been a kid.
She’d grown up on daydreams of the band making it to the big times. They won the lottery of recording deals, while Sam discovered stardom came at a high price. Along with that knowledge came the freebie of all lessons…fantasies were often better than reality. The last time she’d visited the mall without a trail of vipers eager to report her purchases she’d been fifteen.
Was it too much to ask to have a date the world didn’t scrutinize? Even the loss of her virginity made headline news. That act should’ve come with the expectation of privacy. Thanks to the tabloids, Jase almost burst a blood vessel over that exploitation.
Once she’d picked her nose in public on purpose because a rag-reporter stalked her. Scratched her butt on another occasion. Gave them something to write. Those were the photographs and articles that gave her incentive to laugh.
“The only reason they’re not pressing charges is because of Jase.”
“Thanks for the reminder.” Along with it came the reminder that her brother sent Heath instead of coming himself.
Despite the news-hounds, she got out of a lot of shit thanks to her brother’s identity. This incident would be all over the rags and Internet before morning.
‘Hot Wired’s drummer’s sister is at it again!’ They’d go on to paint her wild and immoral comportment.
Have at it you fucks. Can’t hurt me any more than you already have, but what about the band?
Distance from Hot Wired would aid all of them. She’d get her peace of mind back, and they’d be devoid of the rebel-rouser in their group.
She’d mentioned changing her last name and moving back to their Southern roots in the small Alabama town where she’d been born. Jase had gone bat-shit crazy at the suggestion and went on and on about how their parents would be rolling over in their grave at her abandoning the family name.
The name-change idea had been discarded. Swept under the rug like a dust bunny never to be spoken of again.
Torn between two worlds, Sam was suffocating. Living with someone she couldn’t have in a world where she didn’t belong.

One of the things I love most about Christmas is the memories I get to honor and create each year. The season is filled with magic for me and there's definitely traditions I enjoy - christmas crackers, caroling, family getting together to enjoy great food, and finding the perfect gift to make a loved one smile. It's what made writing a memory collection novella for my Mystic Wolves series so much fun! I wanted to capture the excitement I feel and show readers those precious moments of laughter, swoon, and heartfelt sincerity from their most beloved characters. Adding recipes from my childhood and dear friends was just an added bonus! Being an Aussie living in America, here's one I MISS terribly ... so much I can almost taste it now--pavlova!
1/2 cup egg whites, at room temperature (from about 4 eggs)
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1 Tbs. raspberry vinegar or red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
2 Tbs. light brown sugar, packed
2 kiwi fruits, peeled and thinly sliced or 1 cup of another ripe fruit, such as peaches.
10 strawberries, green parts trimmed off, thinly sliced or other berries, such as raspberries or blackberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a mixer fitted with a whisk attachment (or using a hand mixer), whip the egg whites, cream of tartar and salt in a clean, dry bowl until foamy.
Add the granulated sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, and vanilla and continue whipping until stiff, smooth and glossy, about 8 minutes more.
On a sheet of parchment paper cut to fit a sheet pan, use a pencil to draw or trace a circle 9-inches in diameter. Line the sheet pan with the parchment, pencil side down (you should still be able to see the circle).
Spoon the egg whites into the circle, using the back of the spoon to smooth the top and sides of the disk.
Bake in the center of the oven for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 300 degrees and bake until the meringue has puffed up and cracked on the top and the surface is lightly browned, about 45 minutes more.
Turn off the oven, prop the oven door open, and let the pavlova cool in the oven at least 30 minutes, to room temperature. This ensures a gradual cooling, which protects the delicate meringue.
Whip the cream and brown sugar together until stiff. Spoon it in the center of the cooled pavlova and spread out to within 1/2-inch of the edge. Arrange the slices of kiwi around the edge. Arrange the slices of strawberry in the middle.
To serve, slice into wedges with a serrated knife.
Snippet from "Elf on the Shelf."
“Who have you been kissing?” I ordered.
“None of your business.”
“You’d better believe it’s my business.”
It was her turn to raise her eyebrows at me. “Maybe I’ll share that secret with you in exchange for a pranking pardon.”
“No, you’ll tell me.” I stared hard at her.
“You’re as big a pig as my brother. A girl doesn’t kiss and tell.”
“He mustn’t have been any good then.” I smirked. My comment caused her skin to flush with indignation. I’d struck a nerve. “Maybe it’s a good thing we’re standing underneath mistletoe. Maybe you need to know what it’s like to really be kissed.”
“You wouldn’t!” she stammered, nervously
“You’re the one who offered. I’m just looking to collect.” I closed the distance between us, encircling her waist with my arm. Tugging her against my body, she squeaked again and I tried not to laugh. This was too easy.
“Sssh, don’t worry, honey. I’ve got you. I’ll be gentle.” Cupping her face, she closed her eyes, moistening her lips.

A message from the characters in the front of the book...
We were having dinner one evening, talking about what an amazing year it’s been for the Mystic Wolves and how much we love and appreciate all the support you’ve shown.
That’s when we decided . . . what better way to say thank you than this—a special collection of some of our favorite Christmas memories and recipes. At the beginning of a new book, there is sometimes a void of those things that aren’t necessarily vital to the storyline, but are important to us, as characters—little snippets, glimpses into our hearts, if you will. Here are some of ours.
We hope you enjoy this collection of our holiday histories. We’re all about the magic—and that includes the magic of Christmas. Embrace that inner part of you that still believes in Santa and good will to all men. Spread some festive cheer, give the gift of time, share a sincere smile and lend a helping hand. Nothing is so important in the chaos of the season that we lose sight of the meaning of Christmas . . . love.
That’s our wish for you—that you love and are loved.
Keep being amazing!
Mason, Darcy, Jasmine, Daniel, Devlin, and Vlad.

Peanut Butter Cookie Cups
1 pkg (17.5 oz) peanut butter cookie mix
36 mini Reeses peanut butter cups, unwrapped
Whipping them up:
1. Prepare cookie mix according to package directions. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place in greased mini muffin cup tins. Press dough evenly onto bottom and up the sides as best you can.
2. Bake at 350 for 11-13 minutes. Immediately place a peanut butter cup in the middle of the cookie (which is why you want them all unwrapped before the cookies come out), pressing down gently. Cool for minimum of 10 minutes (I do longer as they seem to set better when you go to remove them from the pan.
3. If one or two don’t twist out nice and neat, you must eat these. Can’t serve damaged goods, now, can we? Simple, quick, and people will love you for making them!
If you’re looking for something to heat up the house with less calories, I have three short stories that might do the trick.
Quick introduction into who the heck Ava Branson is.
After 24 years of marriage, I took my life in a completely new direction, became a single mom AND embarked on a new writing career. Stories have tumbled through my head for so many years…they simply had to come out. So, I’ve hunkered down with my laptop, eaten odd meals beside the keyboard…but I’m happy to say that I’m launching a new series in January 2015 - Blue Water Seduction. A five book series that will open with the first three simultaneously.
Still…in between writing, one must eat. So I’m sharing a down and dirty quick recipe that fits in perfectly with our busy lives. It’s my go-to treat when more involved baking just isn’t possible.

Be damned if he'll let a good story get in the way of his happy ever after with her.
